As her story unfolds, a guilty Zoe admits her fears that she wouldn't be surprised if Sarah had taken her own life.
Wednesday 21 October
Archie is really struggling to deal with Zoe being in prison and when Mike accosts him in the village, matters aren't made easier. Feeling sorry for his former friend, Kris tries to talk to Archie but finds the fact that he thinks Lydia might be responsible for Sarah's death difficult to believe. Mike runs into Lydia in the village and she is obviously still an emotional wreck. He invites her to come and stay for a while, at least until the court case is over. Back in Halls, everyone's going insane listening to Archie's conspiracy theories and matters come to a head when Archie berates Charlotte for standing by Lydia. Archie realises that his fury will get him nowhere and goes to see Lydia who eventually opens up, revealing that there is a possibility that Sarah may have killed herself after all. Archie is determined to get the truth out and he rushes to tell Mike that even Lydia believes Sarah might have been suicidal after all…
Thursday 22 October
With Sarah's funeral looming, Archie is determined to get to the bottom of how she died and clear Zoe's name. Things are awkward between him and the other students after he claimed that Sarah had committed suicide. They don't know what to believe but Archie's accusations have riled a distraught Mike, so they advise Archie to let things cool down. Lydia comforts Mike, reassuring him that Sarah was in no way suicidal and when Archie interrupts her lunch with Mike and Charlotte, she quickly takes control of the situation and encourages Mike to leave her to talk to Archie alone. Archie has decided to organise a campaign to help prove Zoe's innocence but Lydia fears this will only implicate her. With the pressure mounting, Lydia feels she is losing control and admits to a confused Archie that Sarah was never meant to die.
Friday 23 October
It's the day of Sarah's funeral and Archie's on a mission. Archie tells Kris he thinks Lydia killed Sarah. Kris is persuaded, but warns Archie not to shout his mouth off. Archie can't help himself, he finds Lydia and accuses her. Kris has to pull Archie away as Nancy comforts Lydia. Afterwards, Archie visits Zoe. He tells her Lydia's pretty much confessed and promises to get Zoe out, leaving his sister full of hope. Zoe visits the prison chapel, where she talks to Paul, the prison chaplain, about Sarah. Meanwhile, Archie goes to DI Fletcher with his news about Lydia. DI Fletcher is dubious and tells Archie she'll be in touch and Archie leaves fuming. Meanwhile Zoe breaks the news to Paul that Archie is going to get her out, but he pours cold water on her hopes - they won't just release her on Archie's word. Not sure what else to do, Archie bursts in to Sarah's wake and accuses Lydia of murder in front of everyone…
Mike finds it hard to cope as the funeral looms. Lydia's consumed with guilt and is about to confess to Mike when Amy arrives. After Mike gives a touching speech it's Lydia's turn to say a few words. She breaks down and imagines seeing Archie coming into the church with policemen, there to take her away. Lydia bolts out of the church. Amy finds Lydia and persuades her to come back inside. It's touching as everyone sings one of Sarah's favourite songs and Lydia tries to say a few words but she's interrupted as Archie bursts in shouting the odds…

Hollyoaks October 2009 Spoilers
Tuesday 6th October
Everyone's reeling from the news that Zoe's been charged for Sarah's murder. Kris, Nancy, Hannah and Loretta try to get their heads round the situation and are all convinced that Zoe's innocent. Kris is angered when the police turn up to search Zoe's belongings and decides to go and see his friend.
However, Archie greets his parents as they arrive to visit their daughter in prison. Archie's resolute in his belief that Zoe is not guilty, but is shocked when his parents don't seem quite so forthcoming with their support.
At the prison, Zoe explains the recent course of events to her family, while maintaining a tough façade. Graham's encouraged by her optimism and suggestion that the evidence against her is unconvincing, but Archie can see through her pretence and challenges her. Later, Archie goes to visit a broken Mike, who makes his ill feelings towards Zoe perfectly clear.
Wednesday 7th October
Lydia's still hospitalised after trying to take her own life following Sarah's death. When Charlotte arrives to see her, she's shocked to see what a mess Lydia is in, clearly worried about her friend. Lydia reveals the plans her and Sarah had, surprising Charlotte by telling her that they planned to go travelling and adopt. Charlotte's clearly unnerved by Lydia's state but assumes it's grief, not guilt.
When Archie arrives, Charlotte immediately tells him to leave but he refuses and as Lydia wakes from her sleep, she agrees to talk to him. Desperate for information that might help Zoe, Archie's left angry when Lydia refuses to accept that Zoe could be innocent - she tells Archie that she'll never forgive her for taking Sarah's life.
