Zoe Hollyoaks Spoilers - November/December 2009

27th of November

Lydia is terrified when she hears that Mike is going to visit Zoe in prison. She tries to talk him out of it before he leaves but is seems that Mike has made up his mind, telling her that if he doesn't go then he will always regret it. At the prison a nervous Mike waits for Zoe to arrive. As she approaches Mike is shocked by how she looks. It isn't the Zoe he once knew, she is pale and drawn. Zoe is pleased to see Mike, but he is cautious. When Zoe tries to warn Mike about Lydia, he snaps and tells her that he wants her to plead guilty. Zoe is heartbroken by Mike's outburst. He tries to get reassurance and begins to talk to her about Sarah. They still share a bond and Mike leaves feeling more confused than ever. When Lydia arrives home later that night, she finds Mike has turned things upside down. When she enquires about what he is doing he tells her that he looking for a diary that Sarah may have kept. Lydia panics but manages to keep her composure. She helps Mike look. Lydia manages to convince Mike that seeing Zoe was the wrong decision, and before long Mike is back under Lydia's spell.

30th of November

It is the first day of Zoe's murder trial. A worried Zak, Kris and Nancy wait to offer their support for Zoe. Zak is reluctant to go into court but is persuaded by the others who tell him that Zoe needs them in her hour of need. While a frustrated Archie waits outside, Kingsley goes to give evidence. He tells the court that Lydia had confided in him about her fears of Zoe and her attempts to sabotage Lydia and Sarah's relationship. Zoe is horrified. As Lydia is about to take her oath, she catches Zoe's eye and although it spooks her a little, she manages to regain her composure. Lydia tells the court that Zoe was jealous of their relationship. She lies about what happened the night before Sarah died, telling the court that she heard an aggressive Zoe making a pass at a defenseless Sarah. Sitting in the dock, Zoe fears that Lydia has delivered the final blow.

1st of December

Charlotte offers to support Lydia in court, but she declines, telling her that they should keep their relationship secret for a while. Lydia tells the court about her suicide attempts and explains that she wished it was her that died and not Sarah. Zoe is shocked and although she knows Lydia is lying she is still afraid by how convincing she is. As Lydia gives evidence, Charlotte sneaks into the back of the court. She hears Lydia telling the court how much she loved Sarah and during the break, quizzes Lydia about it. As the case continues, the knife that was used to cut the parachute is shown around the court. Lydia panics as Charlotte is sat next to her. She knows that if she sees the knife she will recognise it as her own and realise who was really to blame for Sarah's death. Lydia feigns illness and hurries Charlotte out of the courtroom. However just before leaving Charlotte spots the knife and her reaction is obvious. When they return back to the halls, Charlotte quizzes Lydia. Lydia tries to lie, but a determined Charlotte gets her to admit the truth. Lydia was the one who cut the parachute and killed Sarah. Lydia explains that it was meant for her and she wanted to die. As Charlotte tries to convince Lydia to come clean, Lydia tells her that if she went to prison she would kill herself.

2nd of December

As the murder trial continues, it's Zoe's big day in court as she finally gets the chance to give evidence. Everyone's anxious as they arrive, especially Zak who's nervous about seeing Zoe after walking out. Kris refuses to stay away, but has an excruciating wait in the corridor after being thrown out yesterday. Kris discovers Amys been outside the courtroom every day of the trial but he's angry when she instantly dismisses Zoe's innocence and tells her to go in and listen to what she has to say. The prosecution gets underway with the pathologist's report and everyone struggles to hold in their emotions as they listen to the harrowing details of Sarah's death. But it all proves too much for Amy as she screams at Zoe for killing her sister before running out. Zoe finally has her moment in court and takes the stand as she's put through some gruelling questions by the prosecution and is left completely bewildered and emotionally exhausted by her ordeal. As the barristers give their closing statements, the horror of facing a prison sentence starts to kick in for Zoe as the members of the jury retire to consider their verdict.

Charlotte's tormented by Lydia's revelation and doesn't know what to do. She almost confides in Dave when he sees she's upset, but can't go through with it. Charlotte heads over to the court and arrives just in time to rescue Lydia from Nancy, Kris and Archie's attack, angry by her lies, but unable to prove it.

3rd of December

With the verdict of her trial due today, Zoe can only pray for a miracle, fearing she will be found guilty of killing Sarah. All her supporters arrive to the court anxious over the outcome for their friend. Tensions run high and as the trial resumes, everyone is left confused as Mike unexpectedly takes to the stand with Sarah's diary. He admits that after reading this new piece of evidence, he believes Sarah may have taken her own life. This leaves the courtroom speechless and Amy furious. Everyone is on tenterhooks as the juror stands to deliver the verdict…

Charlotte is still struggling to deal with her guilt after Lydia confessed Sarah's sabotaged the parachute. She is desperate to tell Dave but each time she comes close she is reminded of Lydia's threat to kill herself if anyone ever found out. Whilst moving some of Lydia's things, Charlotte comes across a diary belonging to Sarah. After reading some of the recent entries, Charlotte is furious to discover the lies Lydia has told Sarah about herself. After confronting Lydia, Charlotte persuades her to hand over the diary to Mike.

10th of December
Elsewhere, Zoe hates seeing Lydia wandering round the village as if Sarah never existed and wishes that there was something she could do to prove that she was involved in her death. Kris advises Zoe to do nothing but Kris is later annoyed when Lydia tries to make Zoe feel guilty. He then can't believe what he's hearing when Zoe agrees that Sarah took her own life. Zoe reassures Kris, though, that she lied for Lydia's benefit and insists that she's going to play her at her own game.

Lydia notices that Zoe's left her keys behind and breaks into the flat but she's forced to hide when Kris and Zoe return home. When Lydia overhears Zoe telling Kris that she's going to ring her, Lydia panics when she realises that her mobile is on the floor outside.

Zoe's desperate to prove that Lydia's guilty and decides that the only way to make her confess is let her believe she's her friend. Determined to go ahead with her plan, Zoe moves in with Mike in an attempt to befriend Lydia...

11th of December
At the Barnes' house, Mike's languishing in a drunken haze, while Zoe and Lydia play happy families. Eventually sobering up, Mike apologises again to Zoe for making as pass at her but his embarrassment is soon overtaken by shock when Lydia tells him that Zoe's moved in with them.

Zoe's apprehensive at Mike's reaction until he insists that he's happy having them both there for him. Amy, on the other hand, finds the whole set up abhorrent and tells Mike that as long as Zoe's in the house, she wants nothing more to do with him…

14th of December
Meanwhile, when Charlotte notices Zoe and Lydia together, her concern for Zoe grows. She takes Zoe to one side and warns her to be careful around Lydia. Zoe's confused by Charlotte's concern but desperate to prove the truth behind Sarah's death, she tells Charlotte that she's fine. Unseen by them, though, Lydia watches them talking and becomes paranoid that Charlotte will betray her. With that, Lydia follows Charlotte back to Halls and threatens to kill herself if the truth ever comes out.

When Zoe returns to the flat, she finds Lydia packing - she's decided to go back home for Christmas as things are becoming too difficult to deal with. In attempt to keep her on side, Zoe admits that she's feeling exactly the same. The pair then have a heart-to-heart about Sarah. Zoe tells Lydia that she and Mike need her support and with that, Lydia's persuaded to stay in Hollyoaks for Christmas.

29th of December
Elsewhere, Zoe's going all out to keep Lydia on side and the pair become closer. She's repulsed, though, by Lydia's advances but decides to go with it anyway, hoping it will lead to a confession. Lydia seems thrilled and admits that she thought Zoe was out of her league. With that, Lydia moves in for a kiss.

Zoe's immediate reaction is to recoil in horror, leaving Lydia hurt and annoyed. However, Zoe knows that she has to rectify the situation and quickly makes up for it. Zoe takes the lead and kisses Lydia. As things become more passionate, a stunned Mike and Amy walk in and a horrified Zoe is told to pack her bags and leave...

30th of December
Zoe's at a loss over what to do after her attempts to elicit a confession from Lydia went disastrously wrong. However, she's determined to put her plan back into action. When Zoe bumps into Lydia in the village, they talk about their kiss but much to Lydia's disappointment, Zoe tells her they can only be friends. Lydia asks Zoe to meet her at Sarah's grave so they can explain their relationship and gain her blessing. A reluctant Zoe agrees.

Lydia has a chat with Amy who informs her that Zoe's looking to leave and with that, she panics and turns to Charlotte - who's the only one that knows her secret. Charlotte, however, refuses to have anything to do with her and informs Lydia she's happy to reveal her secret. With that, Lydia's sent into a greater turmoil.

Sticking to her word, Zoe later goes to meet Lydia at the church. Despite feeling nervous, Zoe continues to play along with Lydia. As Lydia pushes Zoe to tell Sarah about their relationship, she can't do it and runs off. But will she escape Lydia's clutches?


31st of December
An unconscious Zoe finally come to and the events preceding her attack are fresh in her mind as Lydia's face looms before her. Desperate for the truth, Zoe goads Lydia and tells her that she never had feelings for her - it was all a lie. Zoe beseeches her to say the words 'I killed Sarah', but Lydia refuses. However, it's not long before a floundering Lydia finally admits that the parachute was meant for her, not Sarah.

Zoe's horrified when Lydia pulls a knife and lunges at her. Fleeing for her life, Zoe runs from the church with Lydia in hot pursuit. With time running out, Zoe endeavours to talk Lydia round but she's seriously unstable and as midnight bells begin to ring out, Lydia's plan begins to play out.

However, Charlotte, Mike and Dave arrive too late, finding Zoe bleeding and unconscious on Sarah's grave…

Elsewhere, Mike heads to The Loft to take his mind off being alone at New Year. Archie, however, wants to confront him but Kris steps in and pulls him back. Amy, meanwhile, is also desperate for some attention from Sasha. Running a bar, though, appears to be a higher priority than spending time with her friends.

Charlotte struggles to cope with her guilt and when Mike, Archie and Kris argue about Zoe, she's unable to shoulder the burden and with that, she erupts and admits that Lydia cut Sarah's parachute chord.

Mike lambastes Charlotte for keeping her knowledge a secret, before heading home to confront Lydia. However, back at the Barnes', they discover Lydia's suicide note. Mike and Dave realise that Zoe's in grave peril…
