Wednesday 21 October
Archie is really struggling to deal with Zoe being in prison and when Mike accosts him in the village, matters aren't made easier. Feeling sorry for his former friend, Kris tries to talk to Archie but finds the fact that he thinks Lydia might be responsible for Sarah's death difficult to believe. Mike runs into Lydia in the village and she is obviously still an emotional wreck. He invites her to come and stay for a while, at least until the court case is over. Back in Halls, everyone's going insane listening to Archie's conspiracy theories and matters come to a head when Archie berates Charlotte for standing by Lydia. Archie realises that his fury will get him nowhere and goes to see Lydia who eventually opens up, revealing that there is a possibility that Sarah may have killed herself after all. Archie is determined to get the truth out and he rushes to tell Mike that even Lydia believes Sarah might have been suicidal after all…
Thursday 22 October
With Sarah's funeral looming, Archie is determined to get to the bottom of how she died and clear Zoe's name. Things are awkward between him and the other students after he claimed that Sarah had committed suicide. They don't know what to believe but Archie's accusations have riled a distraught Mike, so they advise Archie to let things cool down. Lydia comforts Mike, reassuring him that Sarah was in no way suicidal and when Archie interrupts her lunch with Mike and Charlotte, she quickly takes control of the situation and encourages Mike to leave her to talk to Archie alone. Archie has decided to organise a campaign to help prove Zoe's innocence but Lydia fears this will only implicate her. With the pressure mounting, Lydia feels she is losing control and admits to a confused Archie that Sarah was never meant to die.
Friday 23 October
It's the day of Sarah's funeral and Archie's on a mission. Archie tells Kris he thinks Lydia killed Sarah. Kris is persuaded, but warns Archie not to shout his mouth off. Archie can't help himself, he finds Lydia and accuses her. Kris has to pull Archie away as Nancy comforts Lydia. Afterwards, Archie visits Zoe. He tells her Lydia's pretty much confessed and promises to get Zoe out, leaving his sister full of hope. Zoe visits the prison chapel, where she talks to Paul, the prison chaplain, about Sarah. Meanwhile, Archie goes to DI Fletcher with his news about Lydia. DI Fletcher is dubious and tells Archie she'll be in touch and Archie leaves fuming. Meanwhile Zoe breaks the news to Paul that Archie is going to get her out, but he pours cold water on her hopes - they won't just release her on Archie's word. Not sure what else to do, Archie bursts in to Sarah's wake and accuses Lydia of murder in front of everyone…
Mike finds it hard to cope as the funeral looms. Lydia's consumed with guilt and is about to confess to Mike when Amy arrives. After Mike gives a touching speech it's Lydia's turn to say a few words. She breaks down and imagines seeing Archie coming into the church with policemen, there to take her away. Lydia bolts out of the church. Amy finds Lydia and persuades her to come back inside. It's touching as everyone sings one of Sarah's favourite songs and Lydia tries to say a few words but she's interrupted as Archie bursts in shouting the odds…

Zoe is anxious to get her acceptance letter from the Film School, while Archie suggests that she's just grouchy because there's a lack of romance in her life. When Natty appears, Archie teases his sister, trying to set her up with him. Later, while Archie is busy flirting with Charlotte, Zoe is surprised when Natty shows up again. Archie's charm falls flat, but Natty and Zoe are getting on well. That is, until Adrian enters. The tension increases when Sarah also turns up with Lydia. Archie cannot help putting his foot in it, nearly revealing Zoe's past lesbian encounters in front of Natty. Adrian surprises Zoe by showing her film in the SU bar. She is horrified—her plagiarism is about to be exposed. She asks Archie to help. His attempts to switch off the film and to deflect attention all fail and, realising it's about her, Sarah storms out. Mortified, Sarah even lashes out at Lydia, and cannot bring herself to go home to the father who she now knows almost abandoned her as a child…

He leaves, telling her to go and confess to Adrian about the script. Things are made worse when Sarah arrives as well and piles on the guilt. When she is really down, Natty offers a shoulder to cry on and they end up kissing. Things look up for Sarah when she bumps into Mike again and he seems less severe than before. She will be failed and her place at Bournemouth is in jeopardy…

When Zoe does return with the hangover from hell, she is in no mood to be friendly. An ill-timed visit from her Dad does not help matters. Mr Carpenter congratulates Zoe on her place at Bournemouth, and he rewards her and Archie for their hard work by giving them both £1000 cheques. However, this just makes Zoe feel even more guilty. She cannot own up to her father that she is going to be failed, and when he catches her arguing with Mike about the stolen script she makes up an excuse about him being jealous of her love life. Zoe decides that the only way forward is to speak to Adrian. However, when he makes an indecent proposal she is faced with a dilemma. Should she sleep with Adrian to save her degree?
